Hooks early Episode 2, the first jump back. Be warned: the lead's fan-girl register in the first two episodes is a lot to take, and it settles around episode 6.

Love across reincarnations, with memory as the wound. The scenes where somebody recognises a face from a previous life are doing exactly the same work here. Difference: Goblin takes the price of its own mythology seriously where this one tidies up.

Slow start Episode 8. Everything before it is mood, rules and comedy, and the buildup asks for real patience. From episode 8 the show stops explaining itself and starts spending.

First love treated as something you carry, not something you keep. Both are about a person defined by an earlier version of themselves and both are gorgeous about adolescence. Difference: no fantasy, and the framing device is honest about where it is heading from the first episode.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the two of them start meeting at night. Episode 1 is loud and abrasive on purpose, and it is the easiest place to quit.

Grief, first love and a childhood that will not stay in the past. Same register of gentle sadness and the same slow reveal of who was actually hurt. Difference: the hook is very late, around episode seven, so it demands more patience up front.

Slow start Episode 7 is the best hour in the run, which is very late for a ten episode show. Before that it is atmosphere and film references.

Fate as a debt from a former life. The mechanics are close: a woman who knows, a man who does not, and centuries of setup. Difference: it plays as farce, so nothing in it is asking to be taken seriously.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the spell book is actually opened and the show commits to being a comedy about a curse.

Quiet 2023 romance with grief underneath it. If the sibling and family scenes were what held you, this is the same muted key for sixteen hours. Difference: no supernatural element and almost no jokes, just two damaged adults circling.

Slow start Episode 4, once the revenge plan stops being a plan and becomes a habit of seeing each other.
