Slow start Episode 7, where the contract stops being a gag and the demon actually has something to lose.

Fate as paperwork from a previous life. Both build the romance on a debt incurred centuries ago and both make the woman the one who remembers. Difference: it is a melodrama with comic moments rather than a comedy with melodramatic ones, and it hurts more.

Hooks early Episode 1, which is the best hour of the twelve. The premise is fully loaded before the first credits roll.

The curse-and-destiny template done properly. If the past-life flashbacks were the part you liked, Goblin runs the same idea with real weight and a better score. Difference: the tone is mournful where this one is playful.

Slow start Episode 8. Everything before it is mood, rules and comedy, and the buildup asks for real patience. From episode 8 the show stops explaining itself and starts spending.

Folklore treated as a working system. Same comfort with charms, spirits and rituals played half straight, half for laughs, and a bickering pair at the centre. Difference: the setting is historical and the horror is real rather than decorative.

Slow start Episode 3, once the spirit and the palace politics are properly entangled. Sixteen episodes is four more than the story has.

Urban fantasy romance with a cursed man at the centre. Same pleasure in a supernatural lead who is rude first and devoted later. Difference: it commits to action sequences, so the pace is a full step faster.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the two brothers share a scene. Their rivalry is the engine.

A romance where the obstacle is supernatural admin. Same light touch, same trust in the leads over the lore. Difference: it takes five episodes to find its footing, where Destined with You is working by episode two.

Slow start Episode 5, once the case work and the ghosts finally share one plot. Episodes 10 and 11 are where the whole thing comes apart.
