A woman who remembers a thousand years of past lives goes looking for the boy from her last one, and for five hours it is one of the loveliest things tvN aired that year. Shin Hae Sun is superb and the reincarnation rules are handled with a light touch. Then the twelve episode format bites: the per-episode ratings fall from 9.0 to 8.2 without a single upward step, the sister strand never gets the ending it is owed, and the finale explains the wrong things. Watch the first half knowing the second half will not honour it.
Ban Ji-eum can endlessly reincarnate. But when her 18th life gets cut short, she dedicates the next one to finding her now grown-up childhood love.
Hooks early Episode 1, which is the best hour of the twelve. The premise is fully loaded before the first credits roll.
