The same appetite, in ten episodes with nothing wasted. Three unremarkable middle aged men who turn out to be lethal, a linear plot with a real clock, and comedy that comes from the group rather than from mugging. Difference: it is a single rescue story rather than a case of the week unit, and there is no romance and no sports angle at all.

Hooks early Episode 1. A retired operative, a taken daughter, and no interest in explaining physics. The pace only breaks at episodes 8 and 9.

The best version of righteous violence played for laughs. A mismatched team, a corrupt local power structure, and fights choreographed as comedy without ever feeling weightless. Same pleasure in watching an unlikely crew embarrass professionals. Difference: it is forty episodes of broad farce built over a murder investigation it keeps at arm's length, with no illness plot, so the tone never lurches the way Good Boy's does.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the priest, the prosecutor and the detective are stuck in the same room.

For the unit of specialists solving what the system will not, on a weekly schedule. Same satisfaction, delivered more efficiently, with disguises and a reliable beating in every episode. Difference: it is pulp that keeps the personal cost in the background, where Good Boy keeps insisting its hero is dying and then not letting it matter.

Hooks early Episode 1. The format is fully established inside the first case.

The 2026 version of the same idea at neighbourhood scale: a former criminal applying professional skills to an ordinary institution, with comedy and competence in equal measure. Difference: twelve episodes, no police procedural spine, and the antagonists are a residents association, so the violence is occasional rather than the point.

Hooks early Episode 1, which opens at 9.4 and holds for four hours. The dip comes later, around episodes 7 and 12.

If what you liked was a team assembled around one very capable outsider, with a building full of people worth defending. Same tonal swing between slapstick and brutality. Difference: it is a black comedy with cartoon logic and a lawyer's mind, so the physical stakes are never real, and it is much funnier on purpose.

Slow start Episode 3, when the Geumga Plaza tenants stop being obstacles and become his crew.

For the sports half rather than the police half. Athletes, coaching, the mechanics of competition treated with genuine affection. Difference: no crime, no action and no jeopardy of any kind. It is a family comedy about badminton, and it is the gentlest thing on this page by a wide margin.
