The same lead, the serious version. So Ji Sub walking back into an organisation he left, seven episodes of forty minutes, and violence with actual weight behind it. Better staged and better shot than anything here. Difference: it is noir with no jokes and no friends. The warmth that makes Agent Kim rewatchable is exactly what Mercy for None strips out.

Hooks early Episode 1. A brother is dead, a man walks back into the organisation he left, and the violence starts immediately. Seven episodes of forty minutes with nothing spare.

The other 2026 hit about a man with a criminal past applying his skills to a domestic problem. Same mix of comedy, competence and neighbourhood scale stakes, with Ji Sung doing what So Ji Sub does here. Difference: the antagonists are a residents association rather than an intelligence service, so it is smaller, funnier and much less interested in action set pieces.

Hooks early Episode 1, which opens at 9.4 and holds for four hours. The dip comes later, around episodes 7 and 12.

For the format underneath: a team of specialists, an episodic structure, and people who deserve it getting what is coming on a reliable schedule. Same pleasure in watching unremarkable looking men turn out to be lethal. Difference: it is case of the week pulp with a season long villain who never threatens anyone you like, where Agent Kim runs one continuous plot with a real clock.

Eight episodes of Netflix action where the friendship is the actual subject and the choreography is the reason to watch. Same appetite for hand to hand work you can follow. Difference: it is about two young boxers rather than three tired professionals, and the loan shark plot is thinner than anything in this show. It also has a much worse second season attached.

Hooks early Episode 1. The boxing gym and the loan-shark hook are both done inside one episode.

Revenge with a body cost, eight episodes, no filler. Somebody trained, placed inside an organisation, and visibly damaged by the work, with fight scenes among the best on Netflix Korea. Difference: no comedy and no team. It is bleak, solitary and considerably more violent, and nobody is saved by loyalty.

Hooks early Episode 1. The father dies in the first fifteen minutes and the deal is struck immediately.

If the arms trafficking half was what interested you. A former soldier turned police officer, illegal guns circulating through Korea, and a procedural spine holding it together. Difference: it is a lecture as much as a thriller, and the pace drops badly in the middle.

Slow start Episode 3, once the guns are circulating and the premise stops being a lecture about them. Episode 6 is the peak.
