Same tension between a gift and a normal life, same central question of what you owe a person you can save. Difference: the leads are adults in a legal procedural, so the plotting is tighter and the school romance sweetness is gone.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the three of them realise they are dreaming the same futures.

For the youth fantasy that earns its emotion. A teenager pulled into a situation with rules he did not choose, music as the emotional engine, and a family knot underneath the high school surface. Difference: it is about parents rather than fate, and it does not lose its way in the back half, which is the one thing Head Over Heels cannot claim.

Hooks early Episode 2, once he lands in 1995 and meets his father at eighteen.

If the shamanism was the draw: possession, spirits, and a heroine whose gift makes her an outsider in her own household. Same world logic, sixteen episodes of it. Difference: Joseon setting, an adult romance, and a much lighter tone. The mortal danger that gives this show its urgency is largely decorative there.

Slow start Episode 3, once the spirit and the palace politics are properly entangled. Sixteen episodes is four more than the story has.

Supernatural rules, a mortal caught in them, and a romance that has to survive a mythology. Same structure of a gifted protector and someone who keeps needing protecting. Difference: contemporary, adult, and considerably more violent, with the immortal doing the saving rather than a schoolgirl spending her own luck.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the two brothers share a scene. Their rivalry is the engine.

For the doomed romance with an afterlife rulebook. Ghosts with unfinished business, a lead who cannot be saved by loving someone, and production design carrying half the mood. Difference: it is a glossy melodrama about a very long grudge, so it trades the school setting and the first love ache for spectacle and sadness.

Slow start Episode 3, once the hotel staff get histories of their own.

The other recent show where seeing the dead is a job rather than a gift. Case of the week structure, workplace comedy, and a lead who would rather not have the ability. Difference: next to no romance and no fate. It is a labour law procedural with ghosts, aimed at anger about workplaces instead of teenage longing.
