Beyond Evil
괴물Checked and re-read
Two policemen who each believe the other is a murderer, and neither of them is wrong about how far the other will go. The two lead performances are the whole engine: Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo circle each other for sixteen hours and the ambiguity is maintained honestly instead of by withholding information. The plot does loop, and the middle stretch repeats its own reveals more than it should. It is heavy, and the small town setting keeps everything airless. Worth every minute if you want a mystery about complicity rather than a whodunnit.
As a killing resembling a cold case resurfaces in a small town, the chase for the truth falls on two policemen who each harbor secrets of their own.
Slow start Episode 3, the point at which you stop trusting both leads at once.
