Same writer, same suffocation. Jung Yi Do again on a person trapped somewhere they cannot afford to leave, surrounded by people who are all slightly wrong, with the dread built entirely from social pressure. Difference: heavy 5 and comfort 1, it is a contemporary psychological horror in one building, so the rural community and the rescue crew are gone.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the other tenants start knocking on his door.

A small town where everybody knows and nobody says. Same premise of a community that has decided the truth is too expensive, same suspicion falling on the people trying to help. Difference: pace 2 and heavy 5, it is a slow two-hander between men who might both be guilty, so the urgency of a rescue is replaced by ambiguity.

Slow start Episode 3, the point at which you stop trusting both leads at once.

Belief used as a weapon on somebody with no money. Same mechanism of a vulnerable person being taken in by a system that offers meaning and takes everything, same interest in who profits. Difference: it is supernatural rather than a con, and much slower, so the physical danger here is replaced by mounting horror.

Slow start Episode 5, when the possession stops being a monster of the week and starts being the story of one family's debt.

Woo Do Hwan again, and a crew assembled against a predator. Same structure of decent young men taking on somebody with institutional protection, same pleasure in loyalty as the only resource they have. Difference: pace 5 and much warmer, with a boxing-movie sweetness, so the claustrophobia is traded for momentum.

Hooks early Episode 1. The boxing gym and the loan-shark hook are both done inside one episode.

The institution is in on it. Same argument that the reason nobody intervenes is that intervening would expose somebody, same cold refusal of catharsis. Difference: romance 0, pace 3 and no horror element, so it is procedural and the physical threat is almost entirely absent.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the first autopsy contradicts the official story.

Escaping a system that protected the abuser, years later. Same subject of somebody the community sacrificed and the long project of getting free. Difference: it is a revenge plan executed by an adult with resources, so the helplessness that makes Save Me frightening is inverted.

Seo Ye Ji twice, and the second one is the antidote. Same actress doing the same thing, a young woman treated as damaged by everyone around her who is in fact the most clear-eyed person in the story. The trapped-in-a-family theme carries over intact. Difference: comfort 3 against comfort 2, it is a romance with a healing arc at its centre, so it treats what Save Me spends sixteen hours refusing to treat.
