Revenge as a slow administrative process, and that is exactly the appeal. Song Hye Kyo plays a woman who spent eighteen years building a plan instead of healing, and the show never once suggests she should have chosen differently. The school flashbacks are hard to sit through and the plan itself is patient, methodical and satisfying to watch execute. The weakness is the men: the doctor helping her is a device rather than a person, and the second half slows down to admire its own chessboard. Released in two halves, best watched as one piece.
Years after surviving horrific abuse in high school, a woman puts an elaborate revenge scheme in motion to make the perpetrators pay for their crimes.
