Difference: it is a stylised thriller with money at the centre, and the last stretch goes so far off the rails that the ending divides.

Hooks early Episode 1. The money goes missing inside the first hour and the show never slows down again.

Grief that has curdled into obsession, in a town that wants it forgotten. Both are about a parent or a survivor who will not let a death be filed away, and both are more interested in the damage that does to the person than in the case. Career-best work from Shin Ha Kyun. Difference: it is a slow procedural with a genuine mystery, and it withholds everything for ten hours.

Slow start Episode 3, the point at which you stop trusting both leads at once.

A mother whose whole self has been spent on a child. The same maternal engine as Wonderful World, comedy on top and a legal injustice underneath, and both are unusually honest that the loss reorganises the parent permanently. Difference: it is a village comedy for long stretches and its violence stays offscreen.

Hooks early Episode 2, once he wakes up changed and the pig farm becomes the whole world.

A woman rebuilding what actually happened to her family. Same primetime melodrama register: an articulate professional woman, a death that has been mislabelled, and an investigation she is not qualified to run. Kim Ha Neul is very good in it. Difference: it is a marriage thriller first, so the antagonist is domestic rather than institutional.

Hooks early Episode 1. The body and the reporter's own exposure both arrive in the opening hour.

What the courts do with a child who kills. Wonderful World starts from a sentence that satisfied nobody, and this is ten episodes inside that machinery, with a judge who despises the people running it. The complement rather than the echo. Difference: it is procedural, unemotional by design, and it gives you no revenge at all.

Hooks early Episode 1, and it is the hardest case in the series. Nothing later is easier to sit through, and the show never lets up.
