The revenge drama of 2024, and the first hour tells you what it is instead of saving it for a twist. A psychology professor loses her son, the legal system shrugs, she handles it herself in the first hour, and the remaining thirteen deal with what that costs her. Kim Nam Joo is extraordinary and Cha Eun Woo is better here than anywhere else he has worked. The late turn, when the revenge starts running in both directions and a conspiracy comes with it, is the part worth arguing about. The performances make all of it land.
A mother who unfairly lost her young son, takes revenge against the perpetrator who has been forgiven by the law and heals her wounds.
Hooks early Episode 1. The loss, the killing and the prison sentence are all inside the first hour. There is no slow build.
