The other great Korean drama about a closed institution with a hierarchy that decides everything. Same interest in how men behave when rank is the only currency, and the same trick of getting real tenderness out of comedy. Difference: it is a comfort watch. Nobody is destroyed, and the institution is treated as absurd rather than as dangerous.

If what stayed with you was the cycle of abuse and how ordinary the people maintaining it are. A community that would rather not know, seniors protecting seniors, and sixteen episodes of moral discomfort. Difference: it is a serial-killer mystery with a puzzle to solve. D.P. has no mystery. You know exactly what happened and who allowed it.
