Because you loved 이상한 변호사 우영우 2022 · ENA · 16 episodes, about 19 hours in total Drama Streaming: Netflix Change drama

A rookie lawyer with autism, a photographic memory and an unbroken interest in whales, walking into a firm with no idea what to do with her. What people actually loved was not the courtroom. It was that Woo Young-woo is never asked to become somebody else, and that Junho is patient in a way K-drama male leads rarely are. These six keep at least two of those three things.

Narrow it down 7 of 7

The order is our own call on how close two shows feel, not a score a machine worked out. Closest thing we have means the same experience in a different costume, shares one strong thread means one thing carries over, and same feeling, different angle means it gets you to the same place by another route.

While You Were Sleeping poster

While You Were Sleeping

당신이 잠든 사이에

2017SBS32 ep~30 min~16h total

Closest thing we have

The first pick, and the closest one. Same shape: a legal procedural with a gentle, decent male lead and a female lead whose unusual ability is treated as a fact rather than a gimmick. Lee Jong-suk plays a prosecutor with the same unarmoured kindness. Difference: cases run two to four episodes instead of one, and there is a mild love triangle, handled far better than that phrase suggests.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the three of them realise they are dreaming the same futures.

Divorce Attorney Shin poster

Divorce Attorney Shin

신성한, 이혼

2023JTBC12 ep~70 min~14h total

Shares one strong thread

The closest structural match almost nobody suggests. A savant lawyer, music instead of memory, a case-per-episode rhythm about people at their absolute worst, and one long grudge running underneath the whole thing. It even shares a cast member with Woo. Difference: no central romance, just a supporting one kept to the edges. The relationship that matters is a three-man friendship, which is either a downgrade or the better trade, depending on what you came for.

슬기로운 의사 생활

Shares one strong thread

For the competence and the found family. A workplace where skilled adults are quietly good at their jobs and kinder to each other than the plot requires, with the same weekly rhythm of one case, one lesson, one small ache. Difference: no legal element and no single protagonist. Season one is the slice-of-life one; season two leans romance.

무브 투 헤븐: 나는 유품정리사입니다

2021Netflix10 ep~52 min~8.5h total

Same feeling, different angle

The other great K-drama with an autistic lead, and the better performance of the two if you can take the weight. Ten episodes of an uncle and nephew clearing the homes of people who died alone, built on genuine mutual dependence rather than protection. Difference: no romance and far heavier. Do not start it looking for comfort.

Park Eun-bin again, and the one to watch if what you actually loved was her. Fifteen years stranded, then a return to a world that moved on, played with the same mix of oddness and open-heartedness. Difference: it carries a domestic-abuse thread Woo never goes near, so it is a harder watch than the logline implies.

Juvenile Justice

소년심판

2022Netflix10 ep~60 min~10h total

Same feeling, different angle

If the courtroom was the draw and you want the version with no softness in it. Ten episodic cases about children who did terrible things, argued out by adults who disagree honestly and are all partly right. Difference: the tone is the exact inverse. It is cold and built to leave you unsettled rather than reassured.

Run On

2020JTBC16 ep~70 min~19h total

Same feeling, different angle

The right call if the real appeal was adults who say what they mean. Four characters, healthy communication, almost no manufactured conflict, and a second lead played by Kang Tae-oh, who was Junho. Difference: no cases and no plot engine. It is a hangout show and it moves like one.

Skip these

Commonly suggested, and wrong

Good Doctor

The reflex pick, because both leads are savants in a professional setting. But Good Doctor is a 2013 melodrama with a much more conventional idea of what a disabled protagonist is for. The 2022 sensibility that made Woo feel new is the exact thing missing.

It's Okay to Not Be Okay

Suggested because it also features an autistic character and a mental-health frame. That character is a supporting brother, though, and the show itself belongs to a violent, stylised romance. Nothing about the daily texture matches.

Taxi Driver

The other great episodic-justice show, and a different moral universe. It is a revenge fantasy where the answer is always violence. Woo's answer is always an argument. If what you liked was that the law worked, this will read as a different genre.

A note on method

Matching starts from attributes we set by hand: pace, how much romance drives the plot, emotional weight, comfort. Then a title only stays if it holds up against the whole run of the show and earns a one-sentence reason for being on this list. Full method.
