Castaway Diva
무인도의 디바Checked and re-read
Park Eun Bin is the reason to watch and the island premise is the reason to start. The first two episodes are genuinely affecting: the backstory is earned, the singing is real, and the rescue lands. It fumbles the transition to modern Seoul badly, the abuse subplot is handled with more courage than finesse, and several characters exist to deliver exposition rather than to live. Still worth the twelve episodes for the performance and the music, but the screenplay is not in the same league as the lead.
Fifteen years after being stranded on a remote island, an aspiring singer reenters society — stopping at nothing to pursue her dream of becoming a diva.
Hooks early Episode 2, once she is off the island and actually singing.
