Adults negotiating instead of misunderstanding. Same conviction that a relationship is a series of explicit conversations, same dry humour, same refusal of the grand gesture, and the same attention to the friends orbiting the couple. Difference: there is real economic anxiety underneath it, housing and rent and a contract, so the calm has teeth where Run On's calm is a temperament.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the housemate arrangement starts.

Two people who say the true thing out loud, eventually. Same dialogue-first construction and the same interest in what people are like at work as well as in love. Difference: it is built around the end of a relationship rather than the start of one, using a documentary frame to make both of them explain themselves.

Slow start Episode 3, once the documentary footage starts cutting between who they were and who they are.

Quiet to the point of stillness, and honest about exhaustion. Same low volume, same adults who are tired rather than dramatic, same trust that a scene can be two people not saying much. Difference: there is a revenge plan underneath it, and pace 1 with heavy 4 makes it a much sadder watch.

Slow start Episode 4, once the revenge plan stops being a plan and becomes a habit of seeing each other.

Kang Tae Oh again, and kindness as the actual engine. Same world where the decent thing gets done without a speech about it, and the same treatment of difference as a fact rather than a lesson. Difference: it is a case-of-the-week workplace show built to be liked by everybody, so it has plot arriving every hour where this has conversation.

Hooks early Episode 1. The whale and the revolving door do the entire job inside twenty minutes.

Dialogue as the whole texture, for people who like talk about art. Same slow circling, same second story that quietly outdoes the main one, same night-time register. Difference: it is slower still and reads unfinished rather than restrained, with the lowest per-episode curve of anything nearby.

Slow start Episode 7 is the best hour in the run, which is very late for a ten episode show. Before that it is atmosphere and film references.

Im Si Wan, and work taken as seriously as this show takes talking. Same attention to how a job shapes a person and the same absence of villains who are only villains. Difference: no romance at all, and the office is grinding rather than healing, so it offers competence instead of comfort.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the sales team starts treating him like a person rather than a filing error.
