The best workplace drama Korea has made, and it never once offers you an escape hatch. A Go prodigy with no degree lands an internship at a trading company, and the show is about spreadsheets, photocopiers and the exact mechanics of a hierarchy grinding a person down. There is no romance, no villain, and no promotion that fixes anything. Twenty episodes at eighty minutes does drag through the contract arc. If you have ever been the least qualified person in the room, this stops feeling like television.
Since he was a child, the board game baduk has been everything to Jang Geu-rae. But when he fails at achieving his dream of becoming a professional baduk player, Geu-rae must leave his isolated existence and enter the real world armed with nothing but a high school equivalency exam on his resume.
