Same writer, and the same argument about institutions. Kim Eun Hee's obsession is a system that knows the truth and buries it because acting on it would cost somebody powerful, and that is Kingdom's plot with the zombies removed. The undead were never the subject: the subject is a monarchy whose appetites are indistinguishable from theirs. Difference: it is a contemporary procedural with romance 1 and no horror, so the dread is bureaucratic rather than physical.

Hooks early Episode 1. The walkie-talkie premise is set up and paid off inside the first hour.

Her horror, and it is the better-built one. Same writer, same structure of an inherited affliction that the authorities refuse to acknowledge, same slow reveal that the real monster is a family protecting its position. Difference: it is a contemporary possession story at pace 2, so the momentum and the set-piece scale of Kingdom are replaced by mounting unease.

Slow start Episode 5, when the possession stops being a monster of the week and starts being the story of one family's debt.

Infection as a state-management problem. Same interest in the machinery that responds to an outbreak, same willingness to let ordinary people be collateral, and neither of them slows down for you. Difference: it is modern and much more action-driven, with no political succession plot, so the court intrigue that gives Kingdom its spine is absent.

Hooks early Episode 1. The infection and the uneasy truce inside one body are both established inside forty minutes.

Period horror where the monster is the occupier's project. Same combination of a historical setting, a created affliction and an institution doing the creating. Difference: it is a wartime melodrama with a central romance, so the cold political calculation here is warmed considerably.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the hospital becomes the setting rather than a rumour. The pace changes completely there.

A conspiracy that everyone in the room is complicit in. Shared cast, and the same premise of an investigator working against the organisation employing him. Difference: romance 0, no horror and pace 3, so it is entirely talk and paperwork, which is the opposite of Kingdom's physical urgency.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the first autopsy contradicts the official story.

Confinement, contamination and nobody coming to help. Same claustrophobic construction and the same refusal to grant relief, heavy 5. Difference: it is a contemporary psychological horror with no political layer and no scale at all, so the epic sweep is traded for a corridor.
