Because you loved 스위트홈 2020 · Netflix · 10 episodes, about 8.5 hours in total Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Action & Adventure Streaming: Netflix Change drama

A sealed apartment block, neighbours turning into monsters shaped by whatever they wanted most, and a cast doing more work than the script. Calibration first, because it decides whether you start it: the action is the weakest thing in it, the romance never gets past longing, and the horror sits behind the mystery of who in the building is still one of them. An 8.7 from 97,626 ratings is generous. It also does not finish inside its ten episodes, which is the caution worth taking seriously.

Narrow it down 6 of 6

The order is our own call on how close two shows feel, not a score a machine worked out. Closest thing we have means the same experience in a different costume, shares one strong thread means one thing carries over, and same feeling, different angle means it gets you to the same place by another route.

All of Us Are Dead

Closest thing we have

The same siege, moved into a school. One building nobody can leave, an ensemble too big for the premise, an infection spreading faster than anyone in charge can answer, and the same appetite for gore. Both are really about who a trapped group decides is still worth saving. Difference: the cast is teenagers, the register is much funnier, and there is no melodrama about what the monsters mean.

Closest thing we have

Infection as body horror, with the mystery kept at the front. Same interest in what the thing inside somebody wants, and the same willingness to be genuinely nasty on screen rather than atmospheric about it. Difference: pace 5 and much shorter, with the outbreak handled by the state instead of by neighbours, so there is no confinement and no ensemble to grieve over.

Shares one strong thread

A monster somebody built on purpose, played as melodrama. Same shape: a created affliction, a building that becomes a trap, and a story far more interested in the people shut in with it than in the creature design. Difference: it is a period piece with a central romance and a war around it, so the claustrophobia is traded for scale and sentiment.

2019OCN10 ep~60 min~10h total

Shares one strong thread

Here the building is the monster. Same contamination logic and the same corridor dread at heavy 5, in a residence full of people you would not want to meet on the stairs, and it never once offers relief. Difference: nothing supernatural, no scale and no set pieces, so the horror is entirely psychological.

Same feeling, different angle

The outbreak, built properly. Same spreading infection, real gore and survival with no help coming, and it is the better-made show by a distance. Difference: a historical political thriller where the plague is a governance failure, so the grief and the monster melodrama are replaced by succession politics.

Same feeling, different angle

The other big ensemble where ordinary people carry something monstrous. Same webtoon scale, same structure of a large cast introduced in pieces, and the same instinct for turning an ordinary building into a battleground. Difference: the abilities are inherited rather than a symptom, and the register is warm family melodrama rather than horror.

Commonly suggested, and wrong

Happiness

The other Korean infection story set in one apartment block, so it lands in every list beside this one. It is a social thriller about quarantine rules, class and who is allowed to stay inside, played cool and procedural. The pleasure here is melodrama and creature design, and that is not what it is selling.

Hellbound

Paired because it is the other Netflix horror with a webtoon behind it. It is an argument about doctrine and crowds, with the supernatural as a premise rather than a threat in the corridor, and its ensemble is assembled to debate rather than to survive together. Different appetite.

Squid Game

The reflexive Korean survival pick. It is an adult allegory about debt and choice, with rules, a game and a class thesis, where nothing here is chosen and the threat is mindless. Coming from a siege in a stairwell, the rules are the wrong pleasure.

A note on method

Matching starts from attributes we set by hand: pace, how much romance drives the plot, emotional weight, comfort. Then a title only stays if it holds up against the whole run of the show and earns a one-sentence reason for being on this list. Full method.
