Ten episodes of a cheap Seoul boarding house turning an ordinary young man into something else, and the best Korean horror on this list. The threat is not a monster, it is proximity: shared bathrooms, thin walls, neighbours who will not stop knocking. Im Si Wan carries it and Lee Dong Wook's dentist is the most unsettling thing he has played. The first two hours are slow and the violence in the back half is not decorative. Do not watch it while living alone in a small room.
Unpleasant events disturb the life of an aspiring crime fiction writer when he becomes a resident of an apartment building teeming with shady neighbors.
