Kim Nam Gil gives the lead the right quiet intensity, and the interview sequences, particularly the early ones, are gripping in a way that pure exposition rarely is. It loses steam as the cases become less specific and the time jumps get confusing, and the supporting cast is underwritten. Worth it for the method rather than the plot: it is one of the few shows that makes the work of understanding a killer feel like real work.
