A Joseon widow with a second life nobody in the house knows about, played for comedy. Twelve fast episodes, a double identity that generates the plot rather than decorating it, and Lee Ha Nee magnetic in the lead. Difference: Knight Flower is light on purpose, so the danger is a running joke where this treats exposure as something that would end a life.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the masked night work and the household deception start colliding.

Period drama with weight, and the best writing in this bracket. Twenty-one episodes of slow-burn romance under an invasion, with silence used better than dialogue and two performances that carry the separation. Difference: My Dearest has no cases and no scheming to win, so the momentum that makes this bingeable is replaced by grief.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the war arrives and the tone hardens permanently.

The other 2024 Joseon show about somebody working inside a court that would kill them for it. Sixteen episodes of palace politics with teeth and a commanding lead, and the political half is genuinely good. Difference: it takes eight slow episodes to reach its turn and the romance never fires, so the pace and the chemistry that make this one work are both missing.

Double life, Joseon, and a script disciplined enough to resolve what it starts. Sixteen episodes with humour that never derails the plot, a body swap used for story rather than gags, and a second female lead written as a person. Difference: To My Beloved Thief is comfort viewing with romance at the centre, where this is a thriller that happens to have one.

Hooks early Episode 1. The night thief and the prince collide immediately and the body swap arrives before you have time to get bored of either of them.

A woman in the palace who will not be absorbed by it, taken seriously for seventeen episodes. Careful historical detail, a power gap treated as a problem, and a central relationship strong enough to carry the run. Difference: The Red Sleeve is slow and interior and has almost no plot machinery, which is the exact opposite of what this show is selling.
