A Joseon mystery built on a missing heir who returns with no memory, and for the first half the show is gripping: gorgeous production, genuine suspense, and a lead pair with intense chemistry. The second half collapses. The political plot is rushed, the mystery's answer is less interesting than the question, and the last stretch lands heavy without having earned it. A show that deserved a better back half than it got.
