Difference: Captivating the King makes you wait for the premise, where this delivers its hook in the first hour and then cannot pay for it.

Period production spending real money on human cruelty. The Gyeongseong of 1945 is built with detail, and what happens inside the hospital lands harder than anything with claws. Park Seo Jun and Han So Hee carry the slower stretches. Difference: Gyeongseong Creature is a monster story whose monster is its weakest element, so the mystery is horror rather than family.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the hospital becomes the setting rather than a rumour. The pace changes completely there.
