To My Beloved Thief
은애하는 도적님아Checked and re-read
A physician by day and a Hong Gil Dong by night, a prince who cannot decide whether to arrest her or help her, and a body swap that for once is not an excuse for a week of comedy. Nam Ji Hyun is the reason it works and Moon Sang Min is the surprise. What lifts it above the KBS weekend sageuk average is discipline: sixteen episodes that actually resolve, humour that never derails the plot, and a second female lead written as a person. The weak spot is the law, which the script applies whenever it wants the leads to suffer and forgets whenever it would solve something. Good comfort sageuk, better than its rating suggests.
Hong Eun Jo leads a double life: a servant and healer by day and a Robin-Hood-like thief named Gil Dong by night. Grand Prince Do Wol, brother to the King, begins to investigate the case. An encounter with a monk leads to them swapping souls, and they are forced to navigate each other's complex worlds.
Hooks early Episode 1. The night thief and the prince collide immediately and the body swap arrives before you have time to get bored of either of them.
