A law firm as a romcom setting, a mismatched pair forced into proximity by work, and a case that is really an excuse for two people to be in a car together. Difference: it has no thriller at all, so it never has to balance a serial killer against a meet-cute, and it is tighter at sixteen episodes.

Hooks early Episode 1. The premise is set up and paid off inside the hour.

Same director, same comic timing. Park Seon Ho again on a romance built from mistaken premises and escalating cover-ups, with the secondary couple given real screen time. Difference: comfort 5 against comfort 3, no crime plot and no darkness whatsoever, so the tonal whiplash that Suspicious Partner lives with is gone.

Hooks early Episode 1. It commits to the bit in the first ten minutes, and that is the appeal.

His lighter work, and the same appetite for a workplace farce. Same director, same instinct for making a professional setting into a playground and letting the leads bicker for six episodes before anything happens. Difference: it is a small, low-stakes comedy with heavy 1, so nothing in it carries the menace that gives Suspicious Partner its spine.

Slow start Episode 3, once the brewery plot and the romance are pointed in the same direction.

Law, crime and romance held in the same hand, done properly. A prosecutor, a case that keeps moving and a genuine thriller that the romance is built around rather than interrupted by. Same 2017, same blend. Difference: the fantasy premise makes it plot-driven, so it is much less funny and much better structured.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the three of them realise they are dreaming the same futures.

The office comedy without the corpse. Same pleasure of watching two people who work together learn each other's habits, same warm ensemble of colleagues. Difference: no crime, no thriller, and a much slower burn, so it is the version to reach for if the murder plot was the part you were fast-forwarding.

Hooks early Episode 2, once she is inside the publishing house under false pretences.

Ji Chang Wook territory again, and the same crime-plus-charm formula. A romance where one half has a secret with legal consequences, played light. Difference: it is a 2026 caper rather than a courtroom show, and it is far more interested in the heist mechanics than in anybody's job.

Hooks early Episode 1. The night thief and the prince collide immediately and the body swap arrives before you have time to get bored of either of them.
