Same webtoon-bright comedy and the same total absence of jeopardy. Difference: sixteen episodes rather than twelve, and it sags slightly in the middle where this never does.

Hooks early Episode 1. The dynamic is fully loaded from the first scene.

Romcom mechanics executed without a dropped beat: a fated pair, a devoted male lead, and a comic ensemble that lands every time. Difference: it has a real emotional undertow and will make you cry at least twice, which Business Proposal never attempts.

Hooks early Episode 2, the first jump back. Be warned: the lead's fan-girl register in the first two episodes is a lot to take, and it settles around episode 6.

Friendship-first romance with a heroine who is allowed to be loud, hungry and unpolished. The same feeling of a show that likes its characters more than its plot. Difference: no rich-CEO fantasy and much lower gloss.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the two leads start colliding on purpose.

Grown-up office romcom with a publishing house full of people you would happily work with, and a second-lead situation handled kindly. Difference: slower, gentler, and it has an actual career story underneath.

Hooks early Episode 2, once she is inside the publishing house under false pretences.

The contract-relationship trope taken seriously: same fake-arrangement setup, played as a study of two anxious adults instead of a comedy. Difference: dry and quiet, so if you were here for the shrieking it is the wrong dial.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the housemate arrangement starts.

Same broad crowd-pleasing register with a bigger family ensemble and better food. Difference: a thriller subplot in the back half that the genre does not prepare you for.

Slow start Episode 3, once the side-dish shop and the cram school collide properly.
