Crash Course in Romance
일타 스캔들Checked and re-read
A romcom that smuggles a surprisingly effective thriller into the middle of a cram school love story. Jeon Do Yeon and Jung Kyung Ho play the age gap romance as adults rather than blushing teenagers, which is the single best decision the show makes. The killer subplot hits harder than the genre promises and the comedy lands more often than it misses. Sixteen episodes is two too many, the way it always is, but the ensemble and the Gangnam education satire keep it alive when the romance coasts.
The series follows the bittersweet relationship between a banchan shop owner whose daughter enters the war of Korea's college entrance exams, and a top hagwon instructor.
Slow start Episode 3, once the side-dish shop and the cram school collide properly.
