Queen of Tears
눈물의 여왕Checked and re-read
The gap between the noise around this and the actual writing is enormous. Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won are excellent and the opening setup, a marriage that is already dead and a diagnosis landing on top of it, is genuinely sharp for four episodes. Then it piles on a chaebol succession war, a stalker thriller, an amnesia arc and an in-law comedy, and it does none of them properly. Sixteen episodes at ninety minutes is a lot of hours for a show that keeps restarting. Watch the first four, then decide honestly whether you want twelve more.
The queen of department stores and the prince of supermarkets weather a marital crisis—until love miraculously begins to bloom again.
Slow start Episode 4, when the in-law hierarchy flips. The chaebol scaffolding takes a while to pay off.
