The template, and it does the format better. A victim the system failed, an outfit that operates outside the law, a disguise, a beating, a smile. Same episodic revenge rhythm and the same refusal to make you sit with any moral doubt afterwards. Difference: the targets rotate across the whole of Korean society rather than staying inside schools, and it is funnier and considerably less punishing to watch.

Hooks early Episode 1. The format is fully established inside the first case.

The serious version of the same subject. School violence with real weight and consequence, fights shot so you can read every exchange, and no interest in catharsis. If the bullying scenes in Teach You a Lesson made you angry rather than excited, this is where that anger goes. Difference: nobody arrives to fix it. There is no unit, no authority and no correction.

Hooks early Episode 1. Eight episodes, zero filler, and the first fight tells you exactly what kind of show this is.

For the institutional argument the vigilante format skips. A judge who openly detests juvenile offenders, working inside a system that keeps producing them, with cases that offer no satisfying punishment. Same fury, aimed at the machinery instead of the individual. Difference: it is procedural, cold and slow, and it deliberately denies you the moment where somebody gets hit.

Hooks early Episode 1, and it is the hardest case in the series. Nothing later is easier to sit through, and the show never lets up.

Revenge for school violence, executed with patience instead of fists. Twenty years of preparation, a target list, and a lead who is entirely willing to destroy herself to finish the job. Same premise that the institutions will never do it for you. Difference: this is a slow, elegant melodrama about the adults those children became, and the violence is emotional rather than physical.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the board is set and you can see the shape of her plan.

The school itself as a crime scene, with a girl transferring in to work out who killed her brother. Same setting, same understanding that the hierarchy in the corridor is enforced by money outside it. Difference: it is a mystery driven by teenagers rather than a strike force, so the payoffs are reveals rather than corrections, and it is thin in its final act.

Hooks early Episode 1. The ruling she refuses to accept opens the show.

Righteous violence played for comedy. A priest with a temper, a corrupt local power structure, and fights staged as gags without ever feeling weightless. Same appetite for watching an untouchable get touched. Difference: it is a broad forty episode comedy with no children in danger, so it never trades on discomfort to earn its catharsis.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the priest, the prosecutor and the detective are stuck in the same room.
