Burnout, a hometown, a mother, and a sibling relationship that carries more than the romance does. The scenes about not being able to admit you have broken down are the best written in either series. Difference: the swapped-lives premise adds a mechanism your show did not need, and the tone is sadder for longer.

Hooks early Episode 1, where the swap happens and both sisters immediately have to live with it. The ratings open at their highest and drift down from there.

A small town, a woman the neighbourhood has opinions about, and a green flag lead who simply keeps showing up. The comedy and the ache sit in the same scene, which is the trick your show pulls in its better hours. Difference: there is a serial killer subplot running through it, so the register is much wider.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the town starts talking about her and Yong-sik starts visibly not caring.

Quitting the job and the city, then doing nothing on purpose. It is the quietest possible version of the choice your heroine makes in episode one, and it does not rush her recovery. Difference: a very slow pulse and long stretches with almost no plot, and what plot there is carries real family damage, so it asks for patience rather than momentum.

An ensemble about ordinary people in a coastal town, told one chapter at a time, where the parent and child stories hit harder than the couples. Same faith that small lives are enough material. Difference: it is an anthology with no central romance, so nothing carries across the whole run.
