Summer Strike
아무것도 하고 싶지 않아Checked and re-read
A woman quits her job and moves to a seaside village to do nothing, and the show commits to the nothing with more courage than most dramas commit to their plots. Kim Seol Hyun is good in the lead, the village ensemble is warm, and the pacing is deliberately glacial: this is a show about choosing to stop, and it refuses to hurry. The romance is gentle and undramatic, and the stillness gets broken by real ugliness: harassment, family damage and a death the village cannot shrug off. The twelve episodes ask for a kind of patience that is either meditative or unbearable depending on where you are in your own life.
After getting dumped by her boyfriend and losing her mother in an accident, Yeo-reum decides to move to a small village to do nothing.
Slow start Episode 3, once the village regulars start turning up at the library.
