Difference: they have a shared history rather than a standoff, the argument is that both of them grew up, and it is comfort 4 where this is cold.

Slow start Episode 3, once the documentary footage starts cutting between who they were and who they are.

The ambiguous man, with a plot attached to him. Same campus, same discomfort about a relationship that is visibly a bad idea, and the same refusal to make anybody in it safe. Difference: the man is actively managing everyone around him, so the unease is a power play with consequences instead of two people failing to decide.

Hooks early Episode 1. The dynamic between them is unsettling from the first scene.

The adult version of the same messy pull. Same quiet camera, same morally awkward attraction, no villain and no device anywhere in it. Difference: pace 1, and both of them do the difficult talking out loud, which is precisely what this show refuses to do.

Slow start Episode 4, once both families are involved. Before that it is glances and pharmacy small talk.

Youth romance that means it. Same summer-lit nostalgia and the same conviction that being young with somebody marks you permanently, with a script doing its emotional work in dialogue rather than in silence. Difference: heavy 4 and a period setting, and the obstacle is the world rather than a bad decision.

Hooks early Episode 2, once the two of them start meeting at night. Episode 1 is loud and abrasive on purpose, and it is the easiest place to quit.

An unhealthy centre, handled on purpose. Same interest in attraction between two people who are not well, and the same willingness to make the relationship itself the case study. Difference: adults, romance 4 with real warmth, and a trauma plot the script commits to explaining properly.

Slow start Episode 3, once the housemates are all under one roof and the household becomes the setting.
