Same writer, same director, and two of the same faces. Noh Hee Kyung and Kim Kyu Tae made this four years later with Sung Dong Il and Lee Kwang Soo still in the ensemble, and it carries over the thing that matters: people doing an impossible job while the show refuses to make them heroic. The patrol car replaces the shared house as the room where everyone is honest. Difference: the romance is a background hum rather than the spine, so if the couple was your reason for watching you will feel the swap.

Slow start Episode 3, after the training arc ends.

The obvious pairing, and the later show owes this one a debt. A carer and a patient, a writer and a hospital, illness treated as a condition to live inside rather than a mystery to solve. The meters are identical across pace, romance, weight and comfort, which almost never happens in this catalog. Difference: 2020 gives it a gothic fairy-tale surface and a much louder visual style, where the 2014 show plays everything at kitchen-table level.

Noh Hee Kyung again, and this is her hardest script. Same ear for people who love each other badly, same structure where a large cast each get one unbearable scene, same trust that you will sit through a slow episode. Illness is the subject again, aging rather than the mind. Difference: there is almost no romance and no comic relief valve, so it lands heavier and it does not let you up between blows.

Her ensemble version of the same argument. Nobody is a supporting character, everybody is carrying something they have not told anyone, and the show hands each of them a chapter. The Jeju setting does what the shared house did: it forces people who would otherwise avoid each other into the same rooms. Difference: it splits into distinct arcs rather than following one couple, so the intimacy arrives in bursts and then hands you a new pair.

Two people carrying the same accident. Trauma is the plot here rather than the backstory, and the romance works because both leads are already broken when they meet, so nobody is rescuing anybody. It has the same faith that recovery is slow and boring and worth showing. Difference: it is grimmer and quieter, with none of the flatmate comedy that keeps the 2014 show buoyant.

Adults being honest in small rooms. Same register of restraint, same interest in what a person does with a grief they cannot legally act on, and Lee Sung Kyoung carries over from the 2014 ensemble. It trusts silence the way this one trusts an argument. Difference: it is markedly slower and colder, with a revenge frame instead of a household, so the warmth you get here is missing.
