A closed system that pays out for suffering. Same black-comic distance and the same escalation logic where the rules are simple and the people are not. Difference: nobody comes back, so its arithmetic is one-way and considerably nastier.

Twelve strangers, one afterlife corridor. Both use death as a switchboard, with separate lives pulled into one another. Difference: the horror framing is a feint and the payload is grief, delivered quietly.

Slow start Episode 5, where the strangers turn out to be one story and the horror framing shows what it has actually been doing.

Dying treated as something you can still act on. Same idea that a wasted life is still worth acting on, handled with far more patience. Difference: it is a hospice drama with no genre machinery, so the emotion is earned rather than engineered.

Slow start Episode 3, once the hospice wish-granting team is fully assembled.

A man with a terminal clock and nothing to lose. Same fatalism and the same structure of a countdown forcing overdue conversations. Difference: it is a road trip romance, and the withheld conversation is the whole point.
