Slow start Episode 3, once the hotel staff get histories of their own.

Unresolved grudges settled through dreams, one customer at a time, with the same warmth toward strangers carrying something they cannot put down. It goes for comfort rather than dread. Difference: broad comedy runs through it, and the horror framing you started with is simply not there.

The same trick: a structure that reorders everything in front of it. If the fifth hour of Light Shop is what got you, this pulls the move once more across twelve episodes, and it is just as interested in what people carry rather than what happens to them. Difference: it is a family drama about ageing rather than a genre piece, and there are no ghosts in it.

Slow start Episode 4. Sit with the confusion, it is doing work.

The dead show up asking for the thing they were owed, and somebody living has to file it. Same everyday attitude toward the supernatural: a ghost is a person with unfinished paperwork. Difference: it is a light workplace procedural, so it aims for warmth and never tries to frighten you.

Hooks early Episode 1. A labour consultant starts seeing the workers who died on the job, and the case of the week format is running by the end of the hour.
