Tomorrow
내일Checked and re-read
A fantasy about grim reapers who prevent suicides, and the subject matter is handled with more care and courage than the genre packaging suggests. Each case is about somebody choosing to stay alive, and the show takes each one seriously without being manipulative. Kim Hee Sun and Rowoon lead with contrasting energy that works, and the backstory pays off in the final stretch. The middle sags and the mythology is sometimes in the way of the cases, but the best episodes are genuinely powerful. An 8.8 from over seventy thousand ratings, and the show deserves it for the ambition alone.
Made half-human and half-spirit by accident, a young man is employed by a company of grim reapers in the underworld to carry out special missions.
Hooks early Episode 2, once the case-of-the-week structure clicks into place.
