Undercover Miss Hong
언더커버 미쓰홍Checked and re-read
A financial regulator goes undercover as a twenty year old temp inside a securities firm during the IMF crisis, and the show is smart enough to build its best running joke out of the fact that Park Shin Hye does not look twenty. What starts as workplace farce turns into a Robin Hood revenge caper somewhere around the middle, and the turn is genuinely well engineered. Sixteen episodes is two too many and the late 1990s setting is getting crowded on Korean television right now. Still the funniest thing on tvN this year and the best Park Shin Hye has been in a decade.
A retro office comedy depicting the chaotic events that unfold in the late 1990s when Sammo Hung, a 30-year-old elite securities supervisor who only cares about work, goes undercover as a 20-year-old high school graduate employee at a securities firm where suspicious money flows are detected.
Slow start Episode 3, once the disguise stops being the joke and the fraud case starts moving. The setup hour is the weakest thing in sixteen episodes.
