Connection

A narcotics thriller where the detective is forcibly addicted to the drug he is investigating, and the premise creates a physical urgency that most procedurals lack. Ji Sung carries fourteen episodes with a performance that makes the withdrawal feel real, and the supporting cast, particularly the journalist, is strong. The conspiracy is resolved cleanly and the personal cost is not waved away. A tight, well-acted crime drama that knows what it is and does not try to be anything else.
