Itaewon Class
이태원 클라쓰Checked and re-read
The first eight episodes are a genuinely angry underdog story and the last eight are a business fantasy with a love triangle. Park Seo Joon's stubborn ex-convict opening a bar to ruin the man who destroyed his family is a great engine, and the staff he assembles is the best part of the show. Then the villain turns stupid, the lead's obsessive devotion stops making sense, and the writing stops earning what it spends. Worth it for the first half and the cast. Stop needing the revenge to be satisfying and it goes down much easier.
In a colorful Seoul neighborhood, an ex-con and his friends fight a mighty foe to make their ambitious dreams for their street bar a reality.
Slow start Episode 3, once the bar opens and the crew assembles.
