An 8.4 from 87,640 ratings against a 6.0 rewatch score and a 7.3 for story is the shape of a genuine split: this one is loved and dismissed in almost equal measure, and both readings are defensible. Park Bo Young is the reason it holds, Seo In Guk is well cast as an idea rather than a person, and the photography and score are doing heavy lifting the script never matches. Its worst decision is structural: the contract removes the cost of the illness, so the clock stops meaning anything, and the second-lead romance takes over the middle while the leads wait.
