A superhero comedy set in the last year of the millennium, which sounds like a tonal disaster and mostly is not, because Yoo In Shik knows how to make absurd things feel lived in. Park Eun Bin and Cha Eun Woo have the best comic chemistry of the year and the millennium dread bleeds into the characters instead of just decorating them. Eight episodes, no filler, and it rewatches better than a comedy this odd has any right to. It is messy for two hours and the emotional beats in the back half land harder than a comedy needs them to. The one honest warning: the first two episodes are the worst two, so judge it at three.
A goofy group of townies stumbles into superpowers and fights rising evil as doomsday panic grows in this wild, turn-of-the-century action comedy.
Slow start Episode 3. The first two hours are loud and shapeless and the powers are played as a gag; from three onward the trio becomes a unit and the 1999 doomsday setting starts doing real work.
