It is silly, it is glossy, and it is the most competent straight romcom in years, because it commits: no reluctant will-they, no half-episode misunderstandings, and a second couple worth the screen time. IU is doing exactly what she is good at and Byeon Woo Seok is better here than in Lovely Runner, mostly because the part asks him to be still. The script is thin and the villains are cardboard. Start it knowing that and it delivers everything it promises.
In 21st-century Korea under a constitutional monarchy, a chaebol heiress with everything but status tries to take control of her future after crossing paths with a lonely prince with nothing but his title. Together, bound by a contract marriage, they begin a class-defying romance to rewrite destiny.
Hooks early Episode 1, and it keeps climbing to episode 3. The contract is signed early and the show never stalls waiting for the leads to admit anything.
