A mother who died four years ago is handed forty-nine days to reclaim her place in a house that has moved on without her, and the real subject is the family standing in front of her rather than the rules she has been given. An 8.5 from 28,787 ratings with an 8.92 average for acting across twelve written reviews is the right shape: Kim Tae Hee is very good, Lee Kyu Hyung is better, and the friends around them carry more than they should have to. It is far funnier than the logline suggests and it is not the relentless tearjerker it gets sold as, although the middle stalls whenever the plot needs an obstacle. The real flaw is that Go Bo Gyeol is written with total sympathy and then handed nothing to do, so a genuinely difficult situation resolves through everybody being decent rather than through anybody arguing. Take it as a family melodrama with a ghost in it.
Cha Yu-ri died in an accident five years ago, leaving her husband Cho Gang-hwa to raise their daughter by himself. She becomes a ghost and watches over them until one fateful day she is brought back to life by the deities and told she can become human again if she returns to her place in 49 days. Though her husband has remarried, so she must decide between her or his happiness as she slowly re-integrates back into her old lifestyle.
Hooks early Episode 1. She is standing in the world again before the hour is out, and the terms she has been given are set with it.
